Dry-Hopping Your Homebrew

Dry hopping is the addition of hops to the beer during fermentation. This adds additional hop flavor and aroma without adding much bitterness to the beer. If you really love the smell and taste of hops, this can be a wonderful technique. If you prefer a less aromatic beer, this technique may not be for you. Those attempting to clone Pete's Wicked Ale and similar beers usually add some hops to the secondary fermenter after racking (siphoning) the beer off the trub (sediment). A little bit goes a long way; usually a half ounce of hops is plenty.
